Signs of Spring

Even though it's a rainy day right now, everywhere you look there are signs of spring.  We are about a month ahead of our usual spring blooming schedule for Western North Carolina due to our extremely mild winter.  Of course, most of our daffodils have come and gone, but there are a few left that are just starting to bloom.  These daffodils are ones that Travis and I planted last fall.

For my birthday last year Travis gave me bulbs, (no not light bulbs) bulbs to plant.  Daffodils, tulips, grape hyacinths and spanish blue bells; about 400 in total.  We planted them all around the house and in beds of the yard.  I have always liked tulips, but when I was in England with my mom and dad visiting molly, I fell in love with tulips.  In London tulips are the flower of choice in the spring, they are everywhere!

There is nothing that will bring a smile to my face faster than to see tulips in full bloom.  I just hope our tulips are healthy enough to come back next year!

229 Sunnyside Park

On December 20th Travis and I were finally moved into our new house.  Although now there are a few boxes here and there, just about everything has a home.  Daisy and Harper especially enjoy having 5 acres to run and play on and there is no shortage of deer to chase, althought I think they may have scared most of them off.  Let me give you a tour!

Daisy and Harper take a rest in their dog houses, it's a little chilly for Daisy, but Harper loves the 32 deg temps.  Their dog houses are underneath a carport that will hold one vehicle.

Just of the carport is Travis relaxing in his "Man Cave"/den, watching some football.  This is also a great location for plants because of double sliding glass doors they get plenty of sunlight.  A lot of time will be spent in this room.

This is the beach themed half bath off from the "breeze way" connecting the den to the rest of the house.  Not picured is a mail-stop station.

The "breeze way"  enters the house at the kitchen and the family room.  Off the kitchen is our dining room, informal and then through a door way and down the hall are 3 bedrooms, one full bath and then the master bedroom has a full bath.

I don't have more pictures up yet at this point because my computer/internet are too slow! I've been trying to finish this block since January and it's the end of March.  Next to come maybe some pictures about the outside, especially featuring my tulips blooming.
